About The Area

The Aveyron area of Southwestern France is a must for nature lovers with an ever changing scenery offering everything from forests, lakes and mountains to several epic gorges, alien landscape of Rougier de Camarès and Jurassic rock formations of Larzac. With such a dramatic and diverse environment there’s just about every outdoor activity you can imagine here - learn to paraglide, try out white water canoeing, go rock climbing or hit the mountain bike routes for an adrenaline fuelled holiday. 

As well as diverse landscapes the Aveyron region also has some of the country’s most stunning villages. The hilltop villages of Najac and Corde-sur-Ciel have been voted “the most beautiful villages in France” for their picturesque chateaus, narrow streets and incredible views. 

Somn’en Bulle is located just 5 minutes from the beautiful village of Najac on the edge of the Aveyron Gorge. Surrounded by forests, high on the hillside with limestone cliffs, rivers and caves this is the perfect spot from which to explore the area and the many activities on offer.  We’re sure you’ll find lots to do during your stay, but if you’re looking for some inspiration here’s a few suggestions to get you started: 

• Discover nearby forest trails and the Aveyron Gorge on horseback

How To Get There

Fly - The nearest airport is Rodez-Marcillac Airport offering inexpensive flights from London, Brussels and Paris. For more flight options Toulouse Blagnac Airport offers a large choice of international flights.  Both airports are located approximately 1 hour drive from Najac. 

Public Transport - The nearest train station is located in Najac.  To get here from Paris take the Paris Montparnasse Train and change at Toulouse Matabiau.  From here catch the train to Najac. If flying into Toublouse Blagnac Airport take the shuttle bus to Matabiau Gare SNCF and change at Toulouse Matabiau for the Najac train.  Once you have arrived in Najac collection from the station can be arranged through Somn’en Bulle.
