Overview
Situated in the untouched wilderness and rugged terrain of the Grumeti Reserve in Tanzania’s stunning Serengeti, the Sabora Tented Camp offers direct access onto the plains, mixing 1920’s explorer style camps with the comfort of modern luxuries, for a nostalgic sense of adventure steeped in character. Each of the 9 en-suite tents have been skillfully kitted out with the finest decor of comfortable furnishings, antiques, artifacts and traditional craftwork to add an authentic local feel.
Immerse yourself in the wilderness, lounge on daybeds scattered over the plains, enjoy a game of tennis or get fit in the onsite fitness centre between game drives before cooling off with a dip in the pool surrounded by sweeping views from every direction. During your stay you will also have the unique opportunity to visit the anti-poaching observation posts to witness the scale and importance of the Singita Grumeti Fund anti-poaching unit whilst absorbing the beauty of the landscape and stunning sunsets from the hilltop posts.

About The Area
Located on the plains of Tanzania’s Serengeti the camp gives direct access to the incredible and diverse wilderness of the reserve.
Based in the north of the country, along the border with Kenya, the Serengeti is home to just about every African animal you can imagine as well as over 500 species of birds. The area is famed for the annual wildebeest migration, one of the most spectacular events in the natural kingdom. As well as an abundance of big predators the area also has a high diversity of plant and herbivore habitats and an ever changing landscape of riverine forests, swamps and grasslands giving a new experience of dramatic and shifting sceneries.
There’s plenty to do and see included in your stay with daily game drives, walking safaris and birdwatching. Below are just a few suggestions of daily activities available:

Meet the hosts
Founded by Luke Bailes, Singita have been preserving African wilderness for over 25 years across six regions. Singita proudly operate 13 lodges and camps, each with their own unique experience and landscapes to provide guests with a life changing safari experience that will transform their outlook as well as leaving a long lasting positive impact on the community and conservation of the natural area.
How To Get There
Due to the remote area Singita can arrange your journey with scheduled flights or private charters to the lodge.
Air: Flights can be arranged from Kilimanjaro (1hr 15mins) or Arusha (1hr) to the Singita Sasakwa Airstrip where a member of Singita staff will be waiting to take you to the camp by safari jeep approximately 45 minutes away. Please note that due to the small aircraft luggage weight restrictions of 15kg apply
