Meet the hosts
Phil and Mel moved to Puddleduck Valley 10 years ago following their dream of finding a place to provide family friendly, sustainable accommodation where children could play safely and enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. They searched high and low throughout Europe and the UK and finally found The Right Place in the small village of Cookbury in Devon. They set about converting and restoring the old 17th Century stables, barns and farmhouse, brought in a range of friendly farm animals, including goats, pigs and rabbits and opened up Puddleduck Valley to families looking to connect with nature and relax knowing the kids are playing safely. Phil and Mel take their environmental and ethical practices seriously and even won the Gold Award for Green Tourism in their first year - not an easy feat!
Nothing seems too much for the family, they are always on hand to help advise you of things to do during your stay, keeping the kids busy with fun and engaging educational activities and Mel’s homemade welcome cakes are a dream.
How To Get There
Drive - Take the A30 west from Exeter and come off at the A30 Sourton Cross. Head towards Bude and Holsworthy on the A386/A3079. Turn right at Dunsland Cross and take the first left to follow the signs to Cookbury.
