Experience the romance of traditional Italy with nearby medieval towns and Renaissance Art, cool off in the pool and relax with a glass of locally made wine whilst watching the sun setting over the unspoilt countryside.  Each cottage has its own living area, fully functional kitchen and double bedrooms as well as its own private terrace where you can enjoy the stunning views of Italian hillsides and vineyards!

About The Area

Locanda della Valle Nuova is based in the Le Marche Region of Eastern Italy.  An area famed for its mountainous and hilly landscape that runs alongside the Adriatic, Le Marche offers authentic Italian culture, medieval towns, Renaissance Art and a rich history without the bustling crowds and throngs of tourists of nearby Tuscany and Umbria.

Just a short drive from Valle Nuova is the UNESCO World Heritage walled city of Urbino.   Sitting high on the hillside, its narrow streets, beautiful architecture and old fashioned charm is sure to delight your senses and fill you with awe. 

There’s plenty of activities to enjoy on the farm itself with classes and excursions offered by Giulia and her family. The area also offers lots of cultural, historical and nature based activities all within a short drive.  Here’s our recommendations for things to do during your stay: 

• Learn traditional basket weaving methods, Italian cheesemaking or authentic Italian cooking with produce direct from the farm

• Love Truffles? Take part in the truffle hunts and foraging walks 

• Take a guided trek of the area and discover the beautiful landscapes that have made this area of Italy famous

• Sample the finest Italian wines with tours to local wineries

• Take a day trip over to Pesaro and enjoy the long sandy coastline of the Adriatic

• Head out to Parco Naturale Regionale Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi for scenic gorges and cave systems

• Spend an afternoon at San Marino, one of the world’s oldest republics and known for its medieval walled old town and narrow cobblestone streets.

Meet the hosts

Giulia and her family moved from Milan to Le Marche in the search for a quieter and cleaner life. In 1981 they bought a farm and started growing their organic produce and raising organic cattle.  17 years later they decided to share their idyllic lifestyle to visitors, at first offering bed and breakfast in the farmhouse and have now expanded to offer self catering cottages.  

How To Get There

Unfortunately this rural area of Italy does not have a public transport system so a car is essential for your trip

Fly - The nearest airports are Rimini & Ancona which are both within a one hour drive.   Alternatively for more flight options fly to Bologna and take the 2 hour drive. 

Train  - Travel by train to Fano (40 minute drive) or Pesaro (1 hour drive), from there you will need to hire a car for the rest of your journey
