If you’re looking for a family holiday to the Canary Islands with a difference why not stay at the Finca De Arrieta Eco Village.  There’s plenty of different accommodations to choose between, from staying in authentic Mongolian Yurts, stone cottages to luxury villas, each with super kingsize beds, private bathrooms and private gated gardens and all just a short walk from the beach.  With magnificent views across the Temisa valley and volcanic mountains this is the perfect place to watch the setting sun.  The airport transfers and free hybrid car hire included with most of the accommodation options getting to and from Finca de Arrieta is hassle free and easy.  The eco village has everything you need to make your holiday as relaxing as possible with a communal swimming pool, kitchen and lounge area with WIFI access, a children's play area and an honesty shop for any essentials you may have forgotten to pack.

About The Area

Located in the North of the island in the small fishing village of Arrieta, only a few minutes away from golden sand beaches and a variety of restaurants.  Lanzarote Island, with its hot and dry climate offers great coastal walking and cycling trails, national parks and tourist activities making it the perfect island to keep the whole family happy.

With a children’s play area, trampolines, swimming pool and plenty of games in the eco village and the beach just a short walk away there’s lots to keep the kids entertained during your stay.  Further afield there’s a range of activities and attractions to visit, here are a few suggestions of what to do on the island:

• Check out the Cactus Gardens at Guatiza, with a huge collection of varieties of cactus the gardens feature over 10,000 different plants and metal sculptures and is a place that has to be seen to be believed

• Experience caving at Jameos del Agua, in these spectacular and beautiful lava tunnels, caves and lake.  You’ll even see the resident white crabs 

• Spend some time at the Cesar Manrique Foundation and see the works of the artist and architect César Marique

• Get active at Costa Teguise Resort, with a range of watersports and beach activities to keep the whole family entertained

• Explore the otherworldly volcanic landscapes of the Parque Nacional de Timanfaya

• Take a hike or ride a bike across the coastal pathways to discover the islands natural beauty at your own pace

Meet the hosts

Lanzarote Retreats is a family run business created by husband and wife team, Michelle and Tila who moved to Lanzarote over 30 years ago.  In 2007 they followed their ambition to start an chic eco friendly holiday rental business and the business has grown rapidly since, enabling them to create the Finca de Arrieta eco village just a stone’s throw from the Arrieta beach in the north of Lanzarote.

How To Get There

Fly - Lanzarote Airport is just 27 kms away and offers plenty of flight options from the UK.  

Drive - Airport transfers can be arranged through your hosts so you won’t need to navigate your way after a long journey. However if you prefer to hire a car and drive to the eco village your hosts can recommend local car hire companies. Directions can be found using Google Maps
