About The Area

Koh Jum is a small island just off the Krabi coast in South East Thailand. With long stretches of coral sand beaches, clear blue seas, mangrove forests and jungles this island is perfect for beach bums and nature lovers alike.  The north of the island is covered with lush and dense forests offering an array of wildlife including monkeys, hornbill birds and flying lizards. 

The coastline around the island is surrounded by mangrove forests which serve to protect the beautiful beaches.  Coral sands, stunning sunsets over Phi Phi and colourful long tail boats all make this island the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy a holiday in the sun. 

Located only about an hour or so from Krabi International Airport the island is surprisingly still relatively undiscovered by mass tourism. Koh Jum has a sleepy and relaxed vibe with just three small fishing villages and a handful of great hang outs to enjoy a drink and meet local people. Koh Jum is very much a seasonal island with most bars and hotels closing during the rainy season.

Meet the hosts

Koh Jum Beach Villas was created by Ken Seibt in 2006 after he and his family were caught in the 2004 tsunami.  Following the tsunami Ken became involved in helping to rebuild Thailand and established the Build a Boat fund to help local fishermen rebuild and replace boats destroyed by the disaster. It was during his work to help these small communities that he fell in love with a 700 metre stretch of beach on the rustic, sleepy island of Koh Jum which is now the location of these magnificent beach villas.  Ken has now successfully project managed the construction of 20 villas and hopes to bring a fresh and innovative approach to coastal development in Thailand that cares for the environment, works to protect the natural habitats and provides a positive impact to the local community.  

How To Get There

Travel in Thailand is relatively easy and most hotels will be able to arrange your onward travel. Koh Jum Beach Villas can arrange for airport collection from Krabi or Phuket International Airports where you will be met by their airport rep and taken to the villas with a local driver and long-tail or speedboat transfers.  If you would like to arrange private transfers please include your flight times and boat preferences in the special requests section of your booking form. 

Fly - The nearest airport is Krabi International which is just a 20 minute drive to Koh Jum Beach Villa private pier and offers both domestic and international flights daily.  Alternatively Phuket International Airport offers international flights with a longer drive to Krabi Pier

Boat - From Krabi's Laem Kruat Pier you can either catch a long-tail boat which will take approximately 35 minutes or take a speed boat (20 minutes) to Mu Tu Pier which is only 5 minutes drive from the resort.  From there you will be collected and driven to the resort by a local driver     

If you are coming from one of the neighbouring islands (Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta or Koh Yao Noi) collection can also be arranged via long-tail or speed boat.

Airport and port transfers are can be arranged through Koh Jum Beach Villas for an additional cost as follows:

Krabi Airport transfer to Koh Jum Beach Villas per Long tail boat for 2 persons at THB 2,900 each way, for every additional person an extra charge of THB 500 applies. (Rate is subject to 10% service & 7% VAT.)

Fast track option: Speed boat transfer will offer you a speed boat and shorten your total travel time by 20 minutes. Krabi Airport transfer to Koh Jum Beach Villas per Speed boat for 2 persons at THB 3,800 each way, for every additional person an extra charge of THB 500 (Rate is subject to 10% service & 7% VAT.)

Children aged 12 years or older are considered as adults and charged in full.

Children aged between 4-11 years will be charged half price.

Children aged below 4 years transfer is a complimentary.

Transfers can be arranged up until an arrival time of 8:30pm only. An additional charge for transfers after 6pm will apply. For early departure upon check out before 6am, additional fees will also apply.
