About The Area
Hoe Grange Holidays is based on a rural farm between the market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock on the edges of the Derbyshire Peak District amongst rolling hills. This area has fantastic walking trails and scenery in just about every direction with a host of visitor attractions from historic houses, museums and caves. As well as picturesque villages you’ll also find some quirky traditions!
There’s lots to do at Hoe Grange as well as opportunities to relax on the log fired bathtubs, sauna and Glo Pamper treatments but if you’re looking to get out and about during your stay here are a few of our suggestions:
Go underground in the Blue John Cavern & Treak Cliff Cavern - the only place in the world where the semi-precious Blue John Mineral can be found
Get high over the Heights of Abraham and take a cable car over the deep limestone gorge
Explore the heather moorlands and rolling hills of the Peak District National Park
Head over to the Stately Chatsworth House and discover art, sculptures, maze and expansive gardens
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sir Richard Arkwright's Mills for an educational day out
Take advantage of the free mountain bike hire and explore off-road tracks and trails

Meet the hosts
Hoe Grange Farm has been in the Brown family for over 60 years and is now run by David and Felicity. Both passionate about the local area and the environment they have worked to bring the 250 acre livestock farm in line with their eco principles using conservation grazing techniques and minimal use of artificial fertilizers, to encourage a wide variety of native plants and animals. David will be delighted to give you a guided tour of the farm, but please remember to check which field the bull is in before exploring the fields unattended!
