Eco Retreats
Wales

Overview
Bathe under the stars in secluded woodfired bathtubs and snuggle up in the cosy warm yurts and tipis in this off-grid, remote retreat in North Wales. Each yurt and tipi has its own special and secluded corner of the working organic farm lands and forest - with a choice between meadow, forest, riverside or waterfall locations you’re sure to have a magical experience rediscovering the peaceful serenity of nature!
Inside you will find wood burners to keep you warm at night, sheepskin rugs, comfortable beds and candles adding an extra touch of romance (and light!) to your stay, whilst outside there’s fire pits and seating, a compostable toilet hut and even a wood fired bathtub filled with natural spring water!
Please note that being completely off-grid there is no electricity available to the yurts or tipis and very limited mobile phone reception in the area.

Volunteering Opportunities
If you would like to help out at the farm or retreat on a longer term basis you can help support the running of the retreat, including preparing guest tents, meeting and greeting guests, helping to develop meditation / permaculture gardens and eco-living workshops, or teaching yoga. Working for approximately 4 hours "karma yoga" a day you’ll have plenty of time to explore the area and relax during your stay. Accommodation is provided, however you will be asked to purchase your own food and commit to at least 2 - 4 months.
A sense of adventure and ability to live off-grid in a remote area with limited mobile phone reception is essential as well as a proven interest and experience / qualifications in Yoga teaching, meditation, massage, permaculture or eco-building. If this is something that interests you just let Margaret know in the Special Requests section of the booking enquiry form.

Meet the hosts
Eco Retreats is owned and managed by Margaret with her husband and two “free range” children. Margaret’s passion and love for wild places started many years ago when she and her husband lived and worked in some of the remotest areas of Africa, the vast expanses of bush, forest and sky entranced them and has stayed in their hearts as they moved back to the UK to live a more sustainable and conscious lifestyle.
Margaret and her family have been living off-grid for over 7 years now, and have enjoyed the challenges and pleasures this lifestyle has offered. Watching her children grow and seeing them play happily surrounded by nature inspires her to help guests to reconnect with themselves, each other and nature as well as to continue her commitment to ensuring the conservation of the beautiful forest in which they live and work.
Margaret and her family hope your visit will inspire you and leave you refreshed and re-energized!
