About The Area

Sunny beaches, stunning scenery and a wealth of history and culture, Cyprus has it all! Spend your days exploring the dramatic Troodos mountain range, fragrant pine forests and stunning waterfalls, learn about the ancient history and culture with a visit to the archaeological sites of or chill out and relax on one of the many beaches, there’s always plenty to keep your days full of new experiences and adventure. 

Limassol (also known as Lemesos) region sits in the foothills of the Troodos Mountain Range where the sapphire blue sea gently laps onto the sandy and pebbled beaches but is perhaps most famed for the bustling city with its plentiful bars and restaurants as well as the regions vineyards and wine routes. With excellent road links to the rest of the island this is the perfect location from which to explore Cyprus. 

Columbia Beach Resort is located in the secluded Bay of Pissouri, half way between Limassol and Paphos. This area has many hillside hiking trails offering stunning views out to sea, but if relaxing on the beach is more your thing then the 2 km stretch of beach surrounded by dramatic cliffs and mountains is just a stone's throw away.  Despite the areas popularity the village has retained its unique Cypriot character, culture and history with many small chapels as well as an historical gothic church at the centre of this quaint village.  Traditional tavernas serving authentic Cypriot cuisine, cafes and several small shops can all be found nearby.  

We’re sure you’ll find plenty to do during your stay at Columbia Beach Resort, from relaxing in the spa to taking advantage of the watersport activities on offer but if you’re looking to explore the wider area here’s a few suggestions to get you started: 

• Visit the birthplace of Aphrodite at the Petra tou Romiou on your way to the Sanctuary of Aphrodite at Palaepafos - a must for anyone into Ancient and Greek Mythology

• Head up to the Troodos Mountain Range for beautiful forests, stunning views and indiginous wildlife where you can see the rare moufflon (native Cypriot mountain sheep),  bonelli eagles and Eleonora's falcon.

• Climb or ski the snow capped peak of Mount Olympus - it’s ski slopes are open from January to April and offers a unique opportunity to experience both winter sports and sunbathing in the same day!  

• Spend a day in Lefkara village, famed for its traditional crafts including lacework, intricate embroidery and filigree silverworks.  

• Experience an underwater world with snorkelling or diving trips - an abundance of marine life can be found off the island from dolphins and turtles to sting rays and beautiful corals

How To Get There

Fly - Columbia Beach Resort is located just 15 minutes drive from Paphos International Airport or a 1 hour drive from Larnaca International Airport. Both offer regular inexpensive flights from the UK and Europe

Public Transport - The best way to travel to Columbia Beach Resort is via shuttle service which can be arranged through the hotel or through other resort shuttle services.  Regular bus services are available to Pissouri Village however these do not run directly from the airport and are not available on Sundays.  From Paphos - Take the 613 shuttle bus from the airport to Paphos City Centre and then take the 630 bus to Pissouri Village.  From here arrange for a local taxi or driver to take you the rest of the way 

Drive - Driving is by far the quickest and easiest way to travel to the resort. 

From Paphos International Airport - Leave Paphos International Airport on the B603 in the direction of Limassol. Take the left exit, signed for Pissouri village, and follow the road until you reach a T-junction. Turn right, drive over the bridge and then turn left onto the Limassol-Pissouri road. Follow this for around a kilometre then turn right following the signs to Pissouri Jetty. From here, follow the signs to Columbia Beach Resort.

From Larnaca International Airport - Follow the signs to the A5 heading towards Limassol. After Limassol, take the A6 towards Paphos. Pass the tunnel and take the third exit to Pissouri Bay. At the T-junction, turn right and then immediately turn left towards Pissouri Jetty. From here, follow the signs to Columbia Beach Resort
