Volunteering Opportunities
Living self-sufficiently means there’s always lots to do on the plot. Josef welcomes guests to help out, offering them an opportunity to learn about sustainable living & agriculture and can help with a range of activities including masonry work, maintaining the vegetable gardens or helping with construction works on the grounds working from 9 am - 4 pm any day of the week. In exchange Josef offers volunteers free accommodation and family meals (guests must provide 1 or 2 full days volunteering for each week of their stay to take advantage of the equivalent exchange of food and accommodation).

Meet the hosts
Josef & Jasmine moved to the area in early 2000s after deciding to quit their jobs, get back to nature and live off the land. Having travelled the world they chose Abruzzo for it’s natural beauty to live here and follow their dream of self sufficiency and sustainable living. Josef and Jasmine found a small village plot with a crumbling ruin and they soon set about restoring the old derelict building into their B&B, fitting renewable energy, waste water recycling and storage facilities and waste management systems to ensure the building was as environmentally friendly as possible. They now live the life they dreamed of with their 2 daughters and welcome others into their home to experience their way of life, discover the beautiful mountains and valleys of Abruzzo and to reconnect with nature: "Among the stars of Heaven and Earth and the sweet smell of home, magical moments are experienced by those who leave no footprint"
