Overview
Sitting snugly in the shadows of the Welsh mountains this carbon neutral guesthouse is located in the centre of Snowdonia National Park. The external timber framed building has been sensitively built around the original 1800's stone wall, lined with sheep's wool, sedum and alpine flower green roofs to keep you warm at night. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom, fairtrade tea and coffee making facilities and offers direct access to a range of activities including mountain biking, hiking and mountaineering. The owners of this environmentally friendly guesthouse have won numerous awards for their sustainable practices including five star food hygiene rating, three star Visit Wales rating as well as winning the prestigious "Considerate Hotelier Green Award" two years running!

Located in the centre of Snowdonia National Park Bryn Elltyd offers immediate access to great hiking trails, mountaineering, canoeing and beautiful Welsh scenery. Only 2kms from the nearest town you can easily find nearby pubs, restaurants and shops within walking distance whilst still offering a remote location where you can switch off and enjoy nature. There are lots of activities to get involved in at Bryn Elltyd with excellent rambling, cycling and mountain trails. Here are a few suggestions for your trip:
Try mountaineering, rock climbing and bouldering in the Welsh Mountains
Explore disused slate mines with Go Below or Zip World where you can try ziplining, underground trampolining and caving excursions

Meet the hosts
Bryn Elltyd is run by husband and wife team, John & Celia who are passionate about protecting the environment and supporting their local community. With a background in teaching technology and engineering John is also a qualified mountain leader and helps to run a local canoe club.
How To Get There
Driving - Take the A470 towards Blaenau Ffestiniog and join the A496, follow the A496 until you arrive at Bryn Elltyd
Public Transport - Make your way to Blaenau Ffestiniog by rail or bus. From there you can either take the Ffestiniog steam train which stops within 200m of Bryn Elltyd, take the less adventurous Number 37 bus or walk on the hillside, side road or main road (2 kms walk)
Fly - Coming from further afield? The nearest international airports are Liverpool (approx 90 miles) or Manchester (approx 100 miles)
