About The Area
Brecon Retreats sits less than a mile from the Brecon Beacons national park and just 5 miles from the village of Battle with it’s Bronze Age monument. The Brecon Beacons is perfect for people who love the great outdoors with excellent walking and hiking trails, mountain biking and horse riding opportunities as well as an abundance of wildlife. From gardens, parks and woodlands, to castles, mills and mines, the Brecon Beacons has hundreds of places to explore, treasures to unearth and fascinating facts to discover.
If you enjoy making the most of the great outdoors, you’ll love the Brecon Beacons. Our National Park is a great place to get active. This is not a fenced-off preserve – it’s a living, working landscape which will bring out your adventurous side. There are masses of paths and trails for walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, horse riders and wildlife-watchers. Plus, there’s a brilliant range of organised activities on offer too; from gentle recreational pursuits like photography to full-on adrenaline sports such as paragliding, rafting and abseiling.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy at Brecon Retreat with its entertainment cabin fully stocked with retro games and a home cinema and direct access to the Brecon Beacons for excellent walking and mountain biking trails, however if you’re looking for a more adrenaline filled holiday below are a few of our suggestions:
Take the kids to Llangorse Multi Activity Centre to learn indoor rock climbing, abseiling and zip lining, horse riding and BMX trails and an high energy activity course
Explore the Brecon Beacons and take a hike to see a beautiful working landscape, reconnect with nature and watch the wildlife
Go mountain biking on the trails across Brecon
Hop on a steam train with the Brecon Mountain Railway to enjoy the incredible mountain views without the hard work
Check out the Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery, with its extensive gardens, lake, model railway and play area as well as eclectic artifacts and decorative arts
