Evergreen Insurance Get Up Close To Orangutans In The Wild

Insurance is my business but nature, wildlife and animals are my passion – I created Evergreen Insurance Services to help our clients with their insurance needs but also to raise donations to give back to charities helping to protect our natural world.  When we are not at work my partner and I enjoy travelling but there has to be a wildlife and nature element to our trips, we are not sit on a beach or by a pool kind of people.  We were recently fortunate enough to visit the Danum Valley in Borneo and what an amazing trip it was.  As we flew from Kota Kinabalu across the island to meet our guide our first thought was just how green and lush the land looked until we realised that what we were looking at wasn’t lush rain forest but moreso palm oil plantations, we were horrified at the devastation caused to create palm oil and looking at the aerial view we couldn’t quite believe our eyes.  After a short flight and a very long journey via a 4x4 for we approached the Danum Valley one million hectre’s of primary rain forest that we immersed ourselves in.  Our mission was to see as much wildlife as we could and as it should be wild, without the threat of poachers, hunters and further destruction of habitats.  We were not disappointed and we saw an array of wildlife from Hornbills to Butterflies, to giant millipedes then to the highlight was standing feet away from a male Orangutan, what an incredible moment – we kept our distance and sat an watched him whilst he enjoyed some figs, we managed to get some amazing photos and then left him to his day.

Holidays where we can experience wildlife are what we love and to experience this in Borneo was truly a magical experience.  We can not get the vision of the Palm Oil plantations out of our minds and the lost habitats of so many species.  It is images like this and other destruction in the world that drives me to push the ethos of Evergreen as much as we can, to do as much good as we can.   Everyone needs insurance whether it is for businesses or personal needs for homes, holiday, cars or pets – making contact with Evergreen and using our services is a way to help generate donations to help support our natural world, we make donations to our charity partners from every policy arranged through us, that has to be a win win – please see here our recent feedback from our charity partner Lion Aid https://evergreeninsuranceservices.co.uk/feedback-from-lionaid/
